Garments by Gertie
From time to time, a talented young designer appears in our midst. When El wrapped a Garments by Gertie hand-knit scarf around his neck for the first time, he said, "Yes! This is IT. This is the talent we love to discover!”
At El's urging, gracefaerie decided to make a gift pattern in recognition of our emerging young designer. We decided on a cropped jacket, lined, with a gently curved neckline sans collar so the details of the hand-knit scarves are featured without distraction. El added his favorite Jonijewelry necklace to complete his striking outfit.
The simple-to-make jacket also fits many 60cm SD/SD13 girls.
Gertie is a student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she studies fashion design and an array of studio arts.
